12 Days of Elizabeth Chan Daily Christmas Songs: #11 – Greatest of These Days

This whole exercise of choosing 12 days of the 250+ songs written this year is tough! 🙂 Which is a good problem to have. I had a similar dilemma when selecting songs for my first Christmas album this year.

“Greatest of These Days” was one of the 20 songs that made the short list for my record this year. However, for timing/scheduling/resource reasons – “Naughty & Nice” became an EP and so the full version of this song never got to see the light of day.

The beauty of my Christmas music is that – I know it will eventually!

Having written hundreds of Christmas songs, I’m selecting the 12 favorite days by remembering how I felt after writing them. After writing this piece, I remember feeling proud that I was able to strum through a somewhat happy song, after writing dozens of melancholy tunes! Even ’til today, this one I still enjoy listening to.
