Radio Did Not Kill The Christmas Star

Video may have killed the radio star, but the stars on Christmas trees always look better when there is Christmas radio in the air.

This year I had many goals to achieve in my journey and one of them was to make a significant impact at radio this year. After all, my dream to pen a great Christmas record was only born sitting next to my sister listening to Christmas radio in New York City. More pointedly, WLTW Lite FM in New York City.

Traditionally, Christmas music still reigns on radio. I’ve been so excited to receive screen shots of people in their cars sharing with me “Fa La La” on their car radio dials.

Sometimes I wish that I were a Christmas artist in the 50’s, but then I realize technology today is something I LOVE and enjoy being part of this new radio world. It’s fantastic to be able to tune into the different radio stations across the country that play my record. Most times I don’t catch the songs – but when I do, I think about the different cities and what they are like. What they think about my song.

Every Monday, the radio Add charts are announced. They report which songs have been added the most across radio stations in the nation. Yesterday I was so happy to see Fa La La making a great impact at radio. It’s extraordinarily humbling to see my name next to the incomparable Kelly Clarkson, Mary J. Blige, Whitney Wolanin, Jewel and Straight No Chaser. Artists that I adore and love so much. It’s very grounding to be on any list with this caliber of talent.

These charts change every week and I am just so thankful for the opportunity my music is getting at radio!

It’s almost Christmas! 🙂
